Pranam Superfood's Origin Story
In the midst of his successful career as a neuroscientist, Dr. Joseph Francis was struck with a profound realization. His research into brain inflammation and its connections to chronic diseases had exposed him to the devastating impact these conditions had on people's lives. But when his wife began aggressive treatment for late-stage cancer, they together realized the daunting battle ahead, Joseph's perspective shifted.

He felt a deep sense of responsibility to find a way to help his wife in any way he could, bringing him to draw upon the knowledge of his upbringing and the healing powers of nature that his father had shared with him throughout his childhood.
Inspired by the memory of his father's compassionate acts, where he provided homemade remedies to those in need, Joseph embarked on a journey to create a product that could make a difference. He delved into his passion for natural foods, sparked by his parents' use of plants, roots, and spices for various ailments. Recalling the flavors and health benefits of those remedies, he became determined to harness the power of these natural wonders in a convenient and accessible form.

The journey began in his own home kitchen in December of 2016. Experimenting with ground blueberries and an array of beneficial spices, Joseph and his wife sought to create a palatable supplement which could help her during a difficult battle with cancer. As the recipe evolved and his children expressed their love for it, he realized the potential of their creation. Encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive feedback from friends, family, and coworkers, Joseph and his wife knew they had something special to share with the world.

With unwavering faith and the belief that he was being guided by a higher force, Joseph and his team worked tirelessly to transform the mixture into Pranam Superfoods' antioxidant bars. Every step was a labor of love, from handcrafting the bars to packaging them at the LSU (Louisiana State University) AgCenter Food Incubator. Although they faced challenges and a modest budget, Joseph's dedication and passion propelled him forward.
